The IoT Box makes it possible to quickly digitalize machines and systems, whether they be connection with IT systems, MES applications or cloud applications like the WAGO Cloud. The range of industrial applications is practically unlimited, the same in discrete production as in process production or as in this example, when used together with Plant Access Management. Where IoT and digitalization are concerned, IT and OT – or, control technology and the IT realm – may conflict. The IoT Box is designed so almost all electrical planning is omitted;as well, the software has been designed so it is ready to use for immediate connection with the higher-level systems. With these features, the IoT Box is suitable for both POCs and mass rollouts. Everywhere that machines and systems, no matter how old, should be digitalized. Meanwhile, full hardware and software flexibility, including edge functionalities, are still available. Alongside the gateway functions for control protocols and fieldbusses, of particular note are preinstalled digital and analog signals, temperature measurement, energy measurement and much more.
