At the beginning of the pandemic I contemplated on what could be done to make life during the pandemic a bit more “livable” for everyone. In this project we developed in a very short time an air purifier that can filter out 99.995% of all viruses and other particles. We use the WAGO Compact power supply in our Miele AirControl. It supplies our controllers with direct current. The greatest challenge in the whole project was how to quickly ensure availability. It was clear to all of us from the very beginning that this was a project that demanded that we react quickly and put an air purifier on the market as early as possible not wanting to waste a single day on which life would be made easier for those who use our air purifier. The WAGO power supply has the benefit that it can either be mounted on a rail, or can be screwed directly onto the device by its retainers. It also comes equipped with picoMAX® connectors, to which ready-made cables can be directly mounted, along with two minus poles, which also meant that we did not have to make any extra changes to the cables on the secondary side. We fulfill the EN 60335 standard with the latest power supply that we deliver to Miele. The added value here for Miele is that no additional tests need to be performed, meaning the device can be installed directly in the air purifier. An additional benefit was that we were able to deliver just one packaging unit to Miele that was tailored specifically to the processes here at the plant. As a result, less waste is produced and workflows can be performed ore target-oriented and quickly. Our collaboration with WAGO was very positive. Even though all of the supply markets were tight we still quickly succeeded in obtaining large quantities of this product so as to secure our series.
