Save time in control cabinet manufacturing despite complicated marking? Does that even work? Yes, and we’ll show you how! So, welcome to our new practical tips on “Control Cabinet Manufacturing”. My Name is Mike Knobel. I'm the product manager at WAGO for the Smart Script Marking Software. The demands on control cabinets, and therefore the overall complexity in marking them, are continuing to increase If you consider the whole process – from the creation, through the print out, up to applying the marking strips – manufacturers can often conclude that this entire process is an enormous time-sink, and thus a financial drain. Today, we’d like to show you how an extremely efficient marking solution can look, can also be quite flexible, and how you can use it to save time and money. And we will use our TOPJOB® S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks and our Smart Script Marking Software in the example. And so we arrive at the first possibility – which is the most efficient, and therefore optimal, solution. We directly access the source of the marking data that is stored in the CRM system. Using our SmartScript Marking Software and our interfaces, like the WAGO EPLAN Interface, you can directly process marking information generated during development, and automatically transmit it to the printer via the interface. The entire marking process is complete in no time at all, and you haven’t even left the CRE system. However, there are a number of different CRM systems and not every CRM system is able to offer a fully automated interface for marking However, and this is a major advantage, practically every CRM system can carry out a marking export into various formats, for example, Excel, CSV, or some type of text file. It is precisely at this point that we come in – with our new Smart Script Marking Software and the new data import. This data import can read in exactly the type of marking information that is exported, process it automatically using a few settings, and the data can then be printed directly at the printer. The marking is then complete – almost as efficiently as if you were using an interface. Now, I would like to explain to you precisely how this functions, and how quickly and easily you can manage complicated marking through our data import, using our TOPJOB®S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks with our Smart Script as an example. We launch the Smart Script Marking Software. You can already see the new data import on the left. Double-click to open the data import. There are already marking templates here for our materials for the data import; however, you can also create new import templates. We select the material for our TOPJOB®S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks, the marking strips, and click on the selection. One of the most helpful things about marking our TOPJOB®S using the marking strips, is that we can generate multi-line labels. This also enables a grouped header, for example, for the equipment identification. I can also select the position I can also select the number of headers. Click “Next” and then select the export file. In our current case, this is an Excel file, which is displayed directly here, and I can see that, yes, this is indeed the correct file that I wanted, and that the content matches. I click “Next”; note that it remains possible to make the corresponding assignments. You can select individual fields or entire columns. You can also enter them directly here, or select the standard assignment if the export comes from EPLAN. Now, I click “Next”, and the complex marking file is imported to our marking strip for the TOPJOB®S modules This is relatively fast, and I also have another chance to preview the marking strips. I can also change the orientation of the contents at this point. However, I also see that something is highlighted in red. This means that the text does not fit. A new check is carried out. I click on “Back”, check the box for “Text check”, and then click “Import”. The text is checked again and the size is correspondingly adjusted so that it now fits in the field. Excellent – everything is now black again. We tell it we want to print – the dialog box opens and we immediately start the printing function. The printed marking strips can be directly applied onto the terminal strips. It is fast and easy. Once across the entire terminal strip – and done. This is how fast it can go – a complete label – using our TOPJOB®S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks and our Smart Script Marking Software. We can obviously label more than just our TOPJOB®S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks using our Smart Script Marking Software; we can also label the entire marking portfolio in our product range. This naturally includes the module labeling, additional component labeling, adhesive labels, for example conductor labeling, and everything that typically arises in a control cabinet. This also includes button marking, adhesive labels, rating plates, and also functions for our data import using variable information You can find all of the information about our Smart Script Marking Software at www.wago.com/smartscript, so I will say thank you very much and good bye.
