Normally, we deliver components. Now, for the first time, we decided to modify and entire train, to fully modernise it. We equipped the train from Frankfurt with new systems and also redid the entire electric wiring. My name is Michael Reinberg, I am a project manager at Rail Solutions GmbH. The greatest challenge of this project was to redevelop the train control, because it is ultimately the core element of the train. My name is Thore Krey, I managed the project for GEZ Rail Solutions on-site and oversaw the commissioning of the modernised trains. After an extensive planning phase in Germany and the rewiring of all technical components, the trains were shipped to Mexico. Then the trains were put into operation. All the elements must work smoothly and reliably on-site. The WAGO components we used are a key element of the technical implementation. They play an important part in the central train control and door control. This is the central control for all commands, for example: when the air conditioning is switched on, when the doors are opened, when the main switch is actuated, when the pantograph is switched on and off and whether we are braking or moving. We decided to use the WAGO 750 XTR system because it is based on railway standard 50155, and we had excellent transparency in the software. The software development was relatively easy to prepare. Roughly half a million people use the railway network in Monterrey every day. It’s nice to see how the modernised trains are now improving mobility here in Monterrey every day.
